9:50am Door bell rings. Roll over and ignore.

9:50am and some minutes. Door bell rings twice more in succession. Ignore.

9:55ish. Voices heard in frontyard/backyard. In vicinity of house. Antoine and I assumed it was a yard service his snotty neighborhood association had sent to pull his weeds, since he had a nasty letter on his door when we got home the night before.

10:00am. I figure Iapos;m awake anyway, so I get dressed and head out to say hi to the lawn people and explain the weeds are bad because the house is foreclosing.

Thereapos;s a DUDE on the back porch, right next to the door. He has something long in his hand, but my brain only registered "not weed-whacker". I opened the glass door a little and said in my best WTF tone "Good morning?" He looks at me and then bolts over the low backyard wall.

Um...WTF? FTW?*

So I ran to the front door, looked around. Ran to all the windows, looked around. Told Antoine. We puzzled for a little bit and then filed a police report. It was all exceedingly weird. So far the best theory we can come up with is that it was someone casing the house for a robbery. Antoine is only at his house one night a week lately and since no one answered the door...? Still, with my car at the front curb, youapos;d think, I donapos;t know, that they wouldnapos;t be that dumb. I donapos;t know. What does one do in this situation?
