In addition to the banner ad running on FZ (apparently the only ad on FZ today) and Fangoria, Medallion is running a JOHNNY GRUESOME contest on the Fangoria website for one week starting next Wed (free book and swag; Iapos;m guessing a shirt, a tattoo and a magnet), and a 30-second radio spot on Fangoria Radio next Friday. This all comes as a huge relief to me, as I was pretty crushed when that print campaign got screwed up. Kudos to the promotions department for cooking up alternatives.

Using the metaphor of working in a womens accessories store (as itapos;s a more fun idea when explaining things using my actual line of work) my boss is an expert on gloves and Iapos;m an expert on knickers. My boss knows a bit about knickers and I know a bit about gloves but we each have our areas of expertise. So a snotty customer doesnapos;t think sheapos;s getting a good service from me but itapos;s just that sheapos;s too fat for the knickers she insisted on buying (er, slow server and refusing to apply six years of service packs). So I keep trying to fix her knicker-related problems but completely failing as I keep pointing out sheapos;s wearing the wrong knickers for horse-riding and if she got the right knickers they wouldnapos;t bunch in her crack (or something). But sheapos;s not happy with my advice which is perfectly skilled so she keeps going to my boss, who doesnapos;t know as much about knickers as me and he keeps saying "listen to Paul, heapos;s the company expert on knickers". I feel indept but I know itapos;s not my fault.�Am I right to be offended at this or am I being too sensitive? Either way itapos;s lunch time. Fuck waiting for them to get back to me about a�problem of their doing.

timapos;s cute. =) he came over today, and we watched ironman. My family was around, and i really was right. I would have much rather him not have met my family. He would have been much better than to be exposed to my mother, my slutty sister, and my non-existant father. They left right after ironman was over, and tim and i kissed for a bit. Made out once. We only had like, ten minutes until he had to leave to go pick up his friends so they could all meet at his house for a french project. I really do like tim. I like the way his lips feel on mine. And i think we look good together. As opposed to riley and i, which would look just ridiculous. Holly says heapos;s "deciding if he likes me or not". Well for fuck sakes he has the worst timing in the history of bad timing. We didnapos;t end up going into sobeys today. But lordy, i hope tim can come to the football game friday. *sigh* weapos;ll see how today goes. Rileyapos;s off at five thirty. I go to work at five. I donapos;t plan on talking about tim. Maybe iapos;ll text him later. I most likely will, seeing as i have no self control. Fuck.

I have been reading stuff for my course, so have had to slow down the novel reading. However, I have finished Lorna Doone now. It was a bit good.
Remember ladies, if you have to choose between being landed gentry with huge amounts of property and money, and the love of a good simple farmer, choose the farmer. Money wonapos;t make you happy etc etc...
Although I suppose Lorna, with all her land and money, would just have had to marry some spoddy aristo and had all her money and cash over to him anyway, so I suppose the farm life might have been more fun.
She is a bit sickeningly perfect though, all tiny hands, lily white skin and demureness. Yawn.

Anyway, I am now reading The World According To Garp. Started it on the bus to work this morning and I am already liking Garpapos;s Mom more than all the sickly sweet Victorian heroines put together. She is at the opposite end of the scale. Canapos;t stand the idea of a life with a man, to the extent that she chooses as the father of her child a severely brain-damaged soldier who she is nurse to, rather than any of the college frat-boys whom she could have her pick of (coming from a well-off family and having large knockers).
So far, I think she probably made the right choice, having read American Psycho earlier on in the list, I know what they all turn out like.

It is nice to be reading a book which isnapos;t Terry Pratchett, Jacqueline Wilson or over 100 years old.
